Beware of Euro Car Parks. I entered the Pedley Street Crewe car park at 06:37:33 hours. Doing so cannot reasonably be described as entering into a contract with them. I attempted to purchase a car park ticket for 12 hours parking (as I had tickets to travel on the 07:15 hours Train to London and return on the 15.45 Train from Euston arriving in Crewe at 17:54 hours). A "Void Transaction Receipt" was issued at 06:42 hours. Ergo, the (attempted) transaction was void. I tried again - this time successfully - and a Card Sales Receipt was issued at 06:44 hours. That is properly the time of entering into a contract with ECP. Events conspired against me and I was unable to catch the 15:45 Train and had to wait until 16:45 - that Train arrived in Crewe at about 19:00 hours. By the time I arrived at my car and exited the car park it was 19:10:21 hours. I have been issued with a Parking Charge Notice (based on the Entry time and the Exit time) for £100 (discounted to £60 if I pay within 14 days of the date of issue - but if I exercise the right of appeal within 28 days, I lose the option to pay the discounted rate). The allotted time was exceeded by only 26 minutes. It doesn't appear that ECP allow for force majeure. £60 is wholly disproportionate. I pay under great protest.
